Sometimes eBay’s “See Similar Items” feature really comes through. While last week’s Maserati Funeral Car remains the favorite, this 1964 Mercedes Benz 220SE Funeral Car is also an amazing rarity. Apparently the Italians really like to ride in style, as this one is in great condition. Find it here on eBay.it in Bologna, Italy with a Buy-It-Now of 6500 Euro.
The car is offered in Bologna but we’re pretty sure those “FI” plates mean it was registered in Florence. It is hard to know if the car could be used for any other purpose, as the huge rear windows are better for display than transport. Lose the Shriner-esque tassels, figurines, and side rails and it could be an interesting promotional tool. We always love the vertical glass Euro headlights, and that small round side marker is an Italian addition and most likely manufactured by Carello.
That tailgate must weight about 500 lbs, and the wide taillights show this to be a converted sedan and not a coupe. These cars are always interesting but even with period conversion craftsmanship it is hard to shake the morbidity of driving around in a funeral car. And we couldn’t quite get ourselves to publish the cargo area photo, as it may induce illness.

This 1967 Maserati Quattroporte 4200 was converted into a 2-door hearse. It claims to be one of a kind and looks like a reasonably clean conversion. Details are limited, but it supposedly the mechancials are in excellent condition. The only photos are from some sort of periodical, but the seller has 100% positive feedback and is supposedly selling the car for his uncle. Find it here on eBay.it in Pavia, Italy. Special thanks to BaT reader Jona F. for this submission!

From the cowl forward the car looks all stock, but the roof has been totally replaced and the rear doors have been eliminated completely. The side windows are huge and feature rolled up drapes for privacy, and the front plate has the right PV designation for the selling location outside Torino.

The steel wheels and hubcaps fit the utilitarian role of the vehicle, and the doors look to display some lettering on the profile shot below. The silver roof-mounted component appears in both photos. Does anybody know what it is?
